My Story
Ceramics isn't a quick art form - or really what art forms are? And like so many creatives, I've dabbled in a lot of different mediums including, photography, oil painting, watercolours and using mixed mediums. But nothing has touched me quite like the unexpected outcome of clay. To be able to enjoy art work not just visually but also to use it daily is something I love, and as I have experimented, I have fallen in love with combinations of glazes and underglazes. Below is a bit more about me, and how I have got to this point. I look forward to sharing my creative journey with you and hope my ceramics make your heart skip a beat.

Hi I'm Tamsyn.
A ceramic artist based in Napier, Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. I have always been creative and studied Fine Arts before heading into a long career in graphic design and photography. I’ve always wanted to return to my more art-based roots, and in 2019 I joined my local pottery club and stepped into the world of ceramics. If you ask anyone who’s made a career out of pottery, it’s addictive!
At the end of 2024, I made the big investment of purchasing my very own kiln. As they say, the rest is history. I launched my social media platforms (very nervously) in January 2025 and, to my huge surprise, secured my first stockist just two weeks later. With every kiln load either selling out or heading straight to my stockists, I stepped back from full-time work to part-time in December 2025, and am now focusing more on my ceramics.

It’s as simple as that. I don’t believe beauty needs to be perfect, but I find joy in everyday beautiful things. That’s why I create ceramics that are not only functional, but also make your heart skip a beat.
Meet my family (and fur children)
I live right in the 'burbs, in Napier, with my husband, two gorgeous boys, three crazy Jack Russells and a cat who thinks she's a dog.
Other than pottery, I love spending time with my family, walking my dogs, swimming in the sea, pilates and travelling.
Design, Photograph and beyond
My other job is a Creative Marketer. I've worked for brands in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. I love good design and beautiful photography and making a brand pop. I'm back freelancing to give myself room to follow both my passions for clay and branding.
